Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using DoorPop. By using the app, you agree to them.

Last updated: July 18, 2026 · See also our Privacy Policy and Support Center · Contact: support@doorpop.app

1 Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form an agreement between you and DoorPop ("DoorPop", "we", "us") governing your access to and use of the DoorPop application and any related services (together, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, or using DoorPop, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use DoorPop. You must also have a valid Ring account and the legal right to connect the Ring devices you link to the Service — for example, as the owner of the Ring account or with the owner's permission.

3 User Responsibilities

By using DoorPop, you agree to:

  • Only connect a Ring account and Ring devices you own or are authorized to access.
  • Keep your Ring account credentials and your TV device secure — DoorPop relies on Ring's own authentication, so account security on Ring's side is your responsibility.
  • Use the Service for personal, lawful, residential monitoring purposes, not to surveil individuals without a lawful basis to do so under your local law.
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, interfere with, or overload DoorPop's backend infrastructure.
  • Review the data-handling commitments in our Privacy Policy — connecting your Ring account means you're comfortable with how that data is processed.

4 Subscriptions

DoorPop is currently free to use during its early-access period. We may introduce optional paid subscription tiers in the future to unlock additional features. If we do, pricing, billing terms, and what's included will be presented clearly in the app and on Google Play before you're asked to subscribe, and these Terms will be updated to reflect them.

5 Payments

Any current or future paid features are billed and processed exclusively through Google Play Billing. We do not collect or store your payment card details. Your purchase is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service applicable to your Google account.

6 Refunds

Refund requests for any purchases made through Google Play are handled according to Google Play's refund policies. Where we're able to assist directly, contact support@doorpop.app and we'll do what we can, but final refund decisions for Play Store purchases rest with Google.

7 Ring Account Connection

DoorPop connects to your Ring account through Ring's own Partner API. Your use of Ring devices and the Ring service remains governed by Ring's terms of service and privacy policy, which are separate from these Terms. DoorPop is an independent companion app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected with Ring LLC or Amazon.com, Inc., except through the Partner API integration described here. Details of exactly what Ring customer data DoorPop receives and how it's handled are in our Privacy Policy. If Ring changes, restricts, or discontinues the APIs DoorPop relies on, some or all functionality may be affected and we'll do our best to notify you.

8 Service Availability

We work to keep DoorPop reliable, but the Service depends on third parties — including Ring's servers, your home internet connection, and your TV manufacturer's platform — that are outside our control. We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we don't offer a service-level uptime commitment. DoorPop should not be relied upon as your sole means of home security monitoring.

9 Termination & Data Deletion

You can stop using DoorPop and disconnect your Ring account at any time from Settings > Disconnect, or by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for anyone who violates these Terms, misuses the Service, or attempts to interfere with its normal operation (for example, abusing our backend infrastructure). Where practical, we'll try to notify you first.

Data deletion after account removal: because DoorPop has no separate account system beyond your Ring connection, disconnecting or terminating your access deletes the associated data as described in our Privacy Policy's Disconnecting Your Ring Account & Deleting Your Data section — your Ring tokens are cleared, the backend record for that device is revoked, and locally cached data is removed. See our Support Center for step-by-step instructions or to request confirmation of deletion.

10 Intellectual Property

The DoorPop name, logo, and app design are the property of DoorPop and may not be used without our written permission. DoorPop grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on your own devices for personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. "Ring" and related marks are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only to describe compatibility.

11 Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We don't warrant that notifications will always arrive instantly or at all, that video will always be available, or that the Service will be free of defects. DoorPop is a convenience notification layer, not a certified security or life-safety system, and should not be used as a substitute for one.

12 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOORPOP AND ITS DEVELOPERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE — INCLUDING A MISSED OR DELAYED NOTIFICATION. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

13 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which DoorPop's developer resides or is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your own country or state provide you additional rights that cannot be waived — those local protections remain available to you regardless of this clause.
